Privacy Policy: YusaDM

1. Introduction

YusaDM ("YusaDM," "we," "us," or "our") is a download manager developed by Yusaware, distributed as a desktop application (the "App") together with an optional browser extension (the "Extension"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and Extension handle and why.

This is a starting draft, not legal advice. It applies to all users of the App and Extension worldwide.

2. Privacy at a Glance

YusaDM is designed to need almost nothing from you. In plain language:

There is no account. You never sign up, sign in, or give us an email address to use the App.
There is no telemetry, no analytics, and no crash reporting. We do not watch how you use the App.
Everything the App knows lives on your device (your download history, file hashes, source provenance, and settings) in a local database and settings file under %LocalAppData%\YusaDM. We cannot see it, and we do not receive a copy of it.
The only things that ever leave your device are (1) the downloads themselves, going to the sites you chose to download from, (2) a plain version check against this site with no identifiers attached, and (3) a license key sent to our payment processor, once paid licensing ships.
The Extension only offers to capture a download after asking you first, by default. It does not silently collect anything.

3. Information We Collect

We do not operate any servers that receive or store your personal information, your download history, or your file contents. There is nothing for us to collect, because the App does not send it to us.

What the App itself stores, entirely on your device, includes:

Your download queue and history (file names, source URLs, sizes, dates, and status)
File hashes computed for integrity verification
Source and provenance metadata for each download
App settings and preferences

None of the above is transmitted to Yusaware or to any third party. It stays in your local SQLite database and settings.json file under %LocalAppData%\YusaDM until you delete it yourself.

4. The Browser Extension

The Extension is an optional companion to the App, available for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. It is designed to do one job: notice when there is something worth downloading, and hand it to the App if you say yes.

What it watches: the browser's own downloads (so it can offer to take them over) and page context-menu clicks you make (so you can send a specific link or file to YusaDM). It does not read page content, browsing history, or activity unrelated to a download you are actually making.
Captures are user-gated. In the default "Ask" mode, every capture shows you an approval popup before anything is handed off. Nothing is captured silently. You can decline a site, and declined sites are blocked from prompting again.
It talks only to the local App, on your own machine, to pass along the download. It does not talk to any Yusaware server.
Cookie, Referer, and User-Agent forwarding (used so a download authenticates the same way it would in your browser) is origin-scoped to the site you are downloading from, held only in memory, and never written to disk, logged, or sent to mirrors, archive services, or anywhere other than the origin site itself.

5. Update Checks

On startup and once a day, the App performs a single, fail-silent request for a static version.json file hosted on this site, to tell you whether a newer version is available. This request does not send your name, email, device identifier, install identifier, or any other identifying information. It is a plain file fetch. If the request fails, the App simply does not show an update notice; nothing else happens.

6. Payments and License Keys

YusaDM does not yet require a paid license to use. When paid licensing ships, purchases will be handled by a merchant-of-record payment processor (not by Yusaware directly); we never see or store your payment card details. The only thing that crosses from that transaction back to you is a license key, delivered by the processor and entered into the App to unlock premium features. We do not maintain an account system or customer database of our own for this.

7. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials (there is no account)
We do not track how you use the App
We do not collect crash reports or diagnostic logs sent to us
We do not collect your download history, file contents, or file hashes on any server
We do not collect your browsing history
We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs of any kind
We do not sell your personal information, because we do not have any to sell

8. Where Your Data Lives

Everything the App knows is stored exclusively on your device, under %LocalAppData%\YusaDM: a local SQLite database (download history, hashes, provenance) and a settings.json file (your preferences). Because this data never leaves your device, we cannot access it, recover it, or hand it over to anyone. If you uninstall the App or delete that folder, the data is gone.

9. Data Security

Because we do not operate servers holding your personal data, most of the usual server-side security questions do not apply. On your device, we recommend the same basic hygiene you'd use for any application: keep your operating system and antivirus up to date, and only download the App from this site or our official GitHub releases.

10. Children's Privacy

YusaDM is a general-purpose download manager and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because the App does not collect personal information at all.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the App changes, for example when paid licensing ships. We will update the "Last Updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
