Privacy Policy: Converser Dating App Assistant

Last Updated: July 2026 · Effective Date: July 2026

1. Introduction

Converser Dating App Assistant ("Converser," "we," "us," or "our") is developed by Yusaware. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the App worldwide, including users in the United States (including California), the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other jurisdictions.

By using Converser, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Privacy at a Glance

Converser is designed privacy-first. In plain language:

  • Your conversations, screenshots, notes, and relationship data stay on your device, in an encrypted local database. We do not operate servers that store your romantic conversations.
  • Screenshots are never uploaded. Text is extracted from screenshots on your device, and the image is then discarded.
  • Before any text is sent for AI processing, it is redacted on your device. Names, nicknames, phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, and links are removed and replaced with placeholders. Only that de-identified snippet is transmitted, temporarily, to generate your requested result.
  • Our servers store only your account and Credits data (balance, purchase and usage history), never your conversations.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not serve advertising.

The sections below describe these practices in full detail.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

a) Account Information (stored with our authentication provider):

  • Email address (for account creation and login)
  • Password (hashed and managed by Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your actual password), or your Google sign-in identity if you sign in with Google
  • A unique account identifier (UID)

b) Profile Information (stored only on your device):

  • Display name or nickname, age, sex, nationality, location (as typed by you), occupation, and any optional details you choose to add

c) Dossier and Conversation Content (stored only on your device):

  • Names, nicknames, and details of persons you add
  • Optional photographs of persons of interest
  • Personal notes, journey chapters, analysis results, and manually written flags
  • Conversation history you type, paste, or import from screenshots
  • Notepad content

d) Voice-Style Data (stored only on your device):

  • Writing samples taken from your onboarding practice conversation and, later, from your own compiled messages
  • A communication style profile derived from those samples, used so AI suggestions sound like you

You can view a plain-language summary of your voice-style profile, relearn it, or delete it at any time in Settings → My Voice Style.

3.2 Information Processed for AI Features (Transient)

When you use an AI-powered feature (Create Message, Help Me Say This, Screenshot Cleanup, Journey Compile, Person Analysis), the relevant text context is first redacted on your device: names and nicknames, phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, and links are removed and replaced with neutral placeholders. The mapping between placeholders and real values never leaves your device.

The redacted snippet is then transmitted over an encrypted connection to our secure cloud functions, which relay it to our AI processing partner, OpenRouter (openrouter.ai), solely to generate the requested result. We configure no-data-retention and no-training routing options where the provider makes them available. Redacted snippets are processed transiently and are not stored by Converser as conversation records. OpenRouter's own practices are described in its privacy policy at openrouter.ai/privacy.

Screenshot images are never transmitted. Text extraction (OCR) happens entirely on your device, and the image is discarded after extraction. We do not scan, analyze, or describe the visual content of images.

3.3 Credits and Purchase Data (Stored in Your Account)

To operate the prepaid Credits system fairly and securely, we store the following in your cloud account (Google Firebase/Firestore), linked to your UID:

  • Your Credits balance and the balance cap
  • Your Credits history (purchases, grants, and amounts spent per action, with dates)
  • Purchase grant records (product purchased, store transaction identifier, Credits granted)
  • Temporary Credit reservations while an AI action is in progress
  • Whether your one-time welcome Credits have been granted

We also generate transient server-side operational logs for each AI action (token counts, pricing calculations, moderation flags, and error records) for billing accuracy, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. These logs do not persist your conversation content.

3.4 Fraud- and Abuse-Prevention Signals

To protect the service from automated abuse (for example, farming of free welcome Credits), we process limited device integrity signals:

  • Device attestation results via the Google Play Integrity API and Firebase App Check
  • A hashed installation identifier
  • Request velocity data (how frequently your account triggers AI actions)

These signals are used only for security, fraud prevention, and service protection. We do not collect device serial numbers, IMEI, or invasive hardware fingerprints.

3.5 Report Content (Only If You Submit a Report)

If you use the in-app Report feature on an AI-generated suggestion, we receive and retain, for safety review: the flagged generated text, the minimal redacted context needed to evaluate it, your report category, and any note you add. This is the only circumstance in which content connected to your use of AI features is retained on our servers, and it is retained solely to review potentially harmful output, comply with legal obligations, and improve safety. Reports never include your full conversation history, Journey, Chat Log, or Notepad.

3.6 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your precise GPS location
  • We do not access your device contacts
  • We do not track your browsing activity or activity in other apps
  • We do not collect biometric data
  • We do not upload your screenshots or photos
  • We do not serve behavioral advertising
  • We do not sell your personal information

4. Where Your Data Lives

4.1 On Your Device (Primary Storage)

The following is stored exclusively on your device, in a local database encrypted with SQLCipher (AES-256), with the encryption key held in your device's secure hardware-backed keystore:

  • Your profile and all Dossier entries
  • All conversation history and compiled Chat Log archives
  • Journey chapters, analysis results, and notes
  • Generated message drafts and Notepad content
  • Voice-style samples and your communication style profile
  • Person photos and app settings

Because this data lives only on your device, we cannot access it, recover it, or hand it over. If your device is lost, reset, or the App is uninstalled without an exported backup, this data is permanently lost. See Section 9 (Backups and Data Loss).

4.2 Firebase Authentication (Account Only)

Your email address, hashed credentials or Google identity, and account UID are stored by Google Firebase Authentication (firebase.google.com), subject to Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We do not store conversations or app content in Firebase Authentication.

4.3 Firestore (Credits and Account Data Only)

Your Credits balance, Credits history, purchase grants, reservations, abuse-prevention state, and any reports you submit are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, linked to your UID. No romantic conversation content is stored here.

4.4 Transient AI Processing

Redacted text snippets sent for AI features are processed transiently as described in Section 3.2 and are not retained as conversation records by Converser.

5. Payments and Credits

We do not collect or store your payment card details. All payment processing for Credit purchases (and subscriptions, if offered) is handled by Google Play Billing, with purchase verification and subscription lifecycle management provided by RevenueCat (revenuecat.com). RevenueCat processes purchase receipts and subscription status linked to a pseudonymous app user identifier, under its own privacy policy (revenuecat.com/privacy).

Records of Credits granted from purchases (product, store transaction identifier, amount, date) are stored in your cloud account so your balance is accurate across reinstalls and so purchases can be restored.

6. How We Use Your Information

We use information solely to:

a) Provide and operate the App's core features, including AI message drafting, person analysis, journey compilation, and screenshot text cleanup
b) Create, authenticate, and manage your account
c) Personalize AI-generated drafts to match your own communication style
d) Operate the prepaid Credits system: verify purchases, grant Credits, charge Credits for successful AI actions, and maintain an accurate ledger
e) Prevent fraud and abuse and protect the service and its users
f) Review reported AI output for safety
g) Respond to your support requests
h) Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations

We do not use your information for targeted or behavioral advertising, for sale to data brokers, for building advertising profiles, or for any purpose not listed above.

7. Information Sharing and Disclosure

7.1 Third-Party Service Providers

7.2 We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We do not sell, trade, rent, or transfer your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. This applies to all users globally.

7.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information we hold (account and Credits data, and report-review content) if required by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority, and only to the extent required. Note that we cannot disclose what we do not have: your conversations and local content are stored only on your device and are not accessible to us.

7.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data we hold may be transferred. We will notify you via email or prominent in-App notice before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

8. Data Retention

  • Account data (email, UID) is retained for as long as your account exists.
  • Credits and purchase records are retained for as long as your account exists, and as required for financial record-keeping under applicable law.
  • Report-review content (Section 3.5) is retained for a limited review period and then deleted, unless longer retention is legally required.
  • Transient operational logs are retained briefly for billing accuracy and troubleshooting and then deleted.
  • Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it, delete your account, or uninstall the App.
  • Deleting your account (Settings → Account → Delete Account) deletes your Firebase authentication record and your Firestore account data (Credits balance, history, grants, reservations, and reports), and wipes the App's local data from your device.

9. Backups and Data Loss (Please Read)

Because your conversations are encrypted with a key that never leaves your device's secure storage, we cannot recover your local data for you: not if you lose your phone, not if you forget a backup password, not for any reason. This is a deliberate privacy design, and it has a consequence you should understand:

  • The App's local database is excluded from Android system backups, because a system backup could not be decrypted on a new device.
  • The only supported way to move or preserve your data is Settings → Export My Data, which creates a backup file encrypted with a password you choose. We never store or see this password and cannot recover it. Keep the file and password safe.
  • Uninstalling the App, clearing its data, or losing your device without an exported backup means your local data is permanently lost.

10. Data Security

  • Local data is encrypted with SQLCipher (AES-256); the key is generated on-device and stored in hardware-backed secure storage, and is never exported or transmitted
  • All network traffic uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Server functions verify authentication and device integrity (Firebase App Check with Play Integrity) before processing requests
  • Firebase Authentication uses industry-standard credential hashing; we never store your password in plain text
  • Exported backups use password-based authenticated encryption

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Choices and Controls

a) Edit your profile: Dossier → You → Edit Profile
b) View, relearn, or delete your voice-style profile: Settings → My Voice Style
c) Delete Dossier entries: Dossier → person → delete; removes that person and all associated local data permanently
d) Export your data: Settings → Export My Data (encrypted backup you control)
e) Delete your account: Settings → Account → Delete Account (in-App; deletes cloud account data and wipes local data). You may also contact us at support@yusaware.com
f) Device permissions: You can revoke the App's photo gallery access at any time in your device's system settings

12. California Privacy Rights (CalOPPA & CCPA/CPRA)

This section applies to California residents and supplements the general terms.

12.1 CalOPPA Disclosures

We post this Privacy Policy conspicuously within the App and on our store listing. We will notify users of material changes before they take effect. We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

12.2 CCPA/CPRA Rights

California residents have the right to:

a) Know: request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, our business purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom information is shared. Note that most of your data is stored only on your device, where you can inspect it directly; our servers hold only the account and Credits data described in Section 3.3.
b) Delete: request deletion of personal information we hold. Use Settings → Account → Delete Account, or contact support@yusaware.com.
c) Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information. Profile data is editable in-App.
d) Opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
e) Limit use of sensitive personal information: where collected (such as account credentials), we use it only as necessary to provide core functionality.
f) Non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

12.3 Categories Collected (Preceding 12 Months)

  • Identifiers (email address, account UID)
  • Commercial information (Credits purchases and usage history)
  • Internet or other electronic network activity (AI feature usage within the App; device integrity signals)
  • Inferences (a communication style profile, stored locally on your device and controllable by you)

12.4 Submitting a Request

Email support@yusaware.com with subject line "California Privacy Rights Request." We will respond within 45 days of a verifiable consumer request (with a possible 45-day extension). We may need to verify your identity first.

13. European Privacy Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

This section applies to users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland.

13.1 Legal Bases for Processing

a) Performance of contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): account credentials, Credits ledger, and transient AI processing are necessary to provide the services you request.
b) Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): optional data you choose to add (such as extra profile details or person photos). You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting the data or your account.
c) Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): fraud prevention, abuse prevention, service security, and safety review of reported content, balanced against your rights.
d) Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): financial record-keeping and responses to lawful requests.

13.2 Your Rights

a) Access (Art. 15): request confirmation and a copy of the personal data we hold (account and Credits data; local data is already in your possession on your device)
b) Rectification (Art. 16): correct inaccurate data; profile data is editable in-App
c) Erasure (Art. 17): delete your account via Settings → Account → Delete Account or by contacting us
d) Restriction (Art. 18): request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
e) Portability (Art. 20): your local data can be exported at any time via Settings → Export My Data in a structured, machine-readable format; contact us for a copy of account-level data
f) Objection (Art. 21): object to processing based on legitimate interests
g) Automated decision-making (Art. 22): the App does not make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you. AI-generated suggestions are drafts presented for you to review, edit, and choose. They are not decisions made about you. The voice-style profile is a drafting aid you can view, relearn, or delete at any time.

13.3 International Transfers

Data we hold may be processed in countries outside the EEA/UK, including the United States, where our service providers operate. Such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

13.4 Data Protection Officer and Complaints

We are not required to designate a Data Protection Officer at our current scale. For privacy inquiries, contact support@yusaware.com. If you believe we have not handled your personal data lawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

14. Children's Privacy

Converser is strictly for adults aged 18 and older. The App includes an age confirmation at onboarding, and its features are not directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account or provided personal information, contact us at support@yusaware.com and we will delete the account and associated information promptly.

15. Third-Party Platforms

Converser helps you draft messages for conversations you conduct elsewhere. The App does not access, connect to, or integrate with any dating platform, messaging service, or social network. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own privacy policies and terms, which are outside our control.

16. Do Not Track Signals

We do not track users across third-party websites or services, so we do not alter our practices in response to Do Not Track signals, since no such tracking occurs.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by displaying a prominent notice within the App, updating the "Last Updated" date above, and sending an email notification where required by applicable law. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
